Kurt Andersen, host of public radio’s Peabody Award-winning radio show Studio 360 and author of the recent New York Times bestseller, HeyDay: A Novel, comes back to his hometown, and I chauffeur him around for a tour of the burgeoning arts scene here in Omaha.

You can listen at Studio 360, or read Kurt’s New York Times Magazine article on the happenings out here at Omaha’s Culture Club.

Co-founder of Spy Magazine and columnist for New York Magazine, Kurt made his own indelible contribution to the Omaha arts scene when he spoke at the Omaha Public Library on March 11th, the day his novel, HeyDay, was featured on the cover of the New York Times Book Review.

Some great writers are also failed conversationalists, but Kurt Andersen is that rare breed whose “voice” is as much fun on the air as it is in print. For living proof, tune into Studio 360, or read his HeyDay essay for Time Magazine: 1848: When America Came of Age.
